Reflecting Joy and Love

In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (NIV).

What do you think of when you think about your mother?

When I think of my mother, I think of love, gentleness and a comforting spirit. I always knew I could find rest when I visited her.

What do others think of when they think about you or me? A gentle and comforting spirit is a benefit of our relationship with Jesus. Do our actions show others our love for Jesus?’

Pastor Rick Warren stated, “Gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit, an overflow of God’s Spirit in you. You can’t be gentle without the power of the Holy Spirit. And you don’t receive the power of the Holy Spirit until you surrender your life to Jesus.”

I pray that we will find rest in Jesus as we give Him control of our lives.

  1. I love the thought of gentleness when thinking of my mother. And rest when I visit her. This puts a smile on my face thinking of seeing her tomorrow. I am thankful we can model this gentleness as we continually give our days to Jesus. As well as the other beautiful Fruits of the Spirit. Thank you for this wonderful Word this morning. Blessings to you 💗
