AS I SEE YOU THERE

Photography, Praise, Video

One afternoon while sitting on my front porch, I noticed this Stick Bug.  I knew that it was certainly lost from its natural habitat.  I felt there were lessons that I and maybe others could learn from this Stick Bug.

AS I SEE YOU THERE

I wonder as I see you there,

How lonely you must be.

Far away from your home,

Your surroundings so strange indeed.

I watch you as you struggle to move,

Just to go a little more.

Can a lesson be found,

Maybe one about loneliness?

Giving thanks to God always,

That people never have to feel alone.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (HCSB)

5 Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I  will never leave you or forsake you.                      6  Therefore, we may boldly say,  The Lord is my helper:  I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?

We Can Rejoice

Photography, Praise

peony

I have shared my peony blooms before and it will always be one of my favorite flowers. To me, it does remain lovely after losing its petals and only the seed pod is left. I have shown pictures of that before on the blog.  But even with the beauty that brings to us, the fact remains that it’s here for just a short time.  It is so wonderful that we can say and rejoice in knowing that God’s love remains, and is here with us forever.

Isaiah 40:8 (HCSB)

The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.

John 3:16 (HCSB)

For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

The Savior’s Love and Grace

               The Savior’s Love and Grace

In the quietness and stillness, as we sat,

We heard the power of God’s truth spoken to us.

Understanding the greatness of salvation and recognizing sin,

      We felt a renewal of the Savior’s love and grace.

Early Spring Flowers

Nature, Photography, Praise

Early spring flowers bring smiles to many faces. The rose always gives a fresh fragrance to the air as you walk by.  The yellow water lily is in our fish pond.  I spent a lot of time trying to get a picture of this bumble bee. He finally stopped long enough in an area for me to get a picture. So this bumble bee brought a smile to my face.

Oh That I Would Ever Wonder

Oh That I Would Ever Wonder

Oh why is it, that I would ever wonder, how You know
Each person’s need, each person’s hurt, each person’s heart.
Why oh why is it that I would ever wonder how You know.
You are so faithful, so true.
Giving constant abiding love.
Unspoken to anyone, You hear the small voices inside the heart.
You hear the cry of Your child.
And in ways so gentle you work, You speak.
We have to listen or we will not hear or see.
The need is met, the heart and the hurts are comforted.
Love is given, love is shown.
Comforting the cry of Your child.
Oh, why is it that I would ever wonder how You know.                                                                                                                           Gay Nell Olive

Because He Lives

Because He Lives   by Bill Gaither

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives
!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

A Sacrifice So Amazing

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

1 When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

3 See from His head, His hands, His feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4 Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were a present far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.
